In
a career spanning almost 30 years, Margaret Strus has firmly
established herself as a leader in the areas of Performance
Excellence, Organizational Assessment and Planning. She has,
furthermore, honed a reputation as one of Canada's foremost
experts in the application of all international Performance
Excellence Models through Assessment and Quality Planning processes.
She is a Certified Solutions Provider for Virtual CEO.
Since establishing
Strus & Associates Inc., a Performance
Excellence consulting firm, in 1989,
Margaret has provided consultation
to a vast array of organizations
in North America in both the private
and public sectors. She assisted
Xerox Canada Inc. in 1989, Northern
Telecom in 1990 and Delta hotels
in 2000, in preparing their submissions
for the Quality category of the
Canada Awards for Business Excellence
(CAE). Xerox Canada received the
first Gold Award presented for Quality
in 1989; Northern Telecom won the
Gold Award in 1990; and Delta was
awarded the trophy in 2000. Margaret
was an examiner for the Canada Awards
for Business Excellence in 1993
and 1994. As well, Margaret is a
partner at C2 Impact, where she
is deeply engaged in bringing technology-based
assessment solutions to Canadian
business.
After completing her undergraduate degree
in English at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C., Ms.
Strus joined IBM Canada Limited in 1974. During her 10-year
tenure, she held a variety of sales and marketing management
positions, including that as Branch Manager of the company's
Office Products Division in Saskatchewan.
In 1985 she joined Xerox Canada Inc., where
she held a succession of senior management positions in sales,
marketing and systems support. At Xerox, Margaret played a
significant role in implementing the Quality initiatives that
have made the company a nationally and internationally recognized
leader in Total Quality Management. In recognition of her
efforts and successes, Xerox presented her with two of the
company's most prestigious awards of recognition: the Award
of Excellence and the Award of Merit.
Margaret is a member of the American Society
for Quality, National Quality Institute, CAMC, and WXN. She
is a past member of the Executive of the Canada Quality Council
and the Board of Directors of the Jean Tweed Treatment Center.
She is a Certified Solutions Provider for Virtual CEO and
NQI PEI. Margaret was nominated for the Rotman Canadian Woman
Entrepreneur of the Year awards for 2001.
