All Stages & Steps of Excellence Implementation: NQI Public and Private Sector Excellence, OPS, Baldrige, and EFQMA

Most organizations complete an assessment on a "euphoric high". They now know where they are and what their gaps are to becoming a World-class organization. They develop vital few plans to address the most pressing areas of deficiency. Why then do so many fail to move the ball and see tangible results? The answer lies in the three drivers of change in an Excellence environment: 1) lack of leadership guidance, direction, support or role-modeling of the required changes; 2) lack of measurement of what one is trying to accomplish; and 3) lack of either a developed plan or follow through on the plan.

In most cases, lack of meaningful change occurs because the desired state is not understood by the party(ies) that are responsible for the change occurring.

Strus & Associates has assembled a team of specialists who can help your organization in any of the areas of Excellence. Whether your focus is on designing or making changes to your approach to: leadership, customer, human resources, healthy workplace, process management, planning, balanced scorecard measurement systems, or supplier relations, our specialists will work with your internal consultants to provide the required level of custom support.

Let's take an example of an organization requiring the development of a "balanced scorecard" of measures for the executive team, to enable them to measure the results of Excellence.

Most organizations measure shareholder value and organizational success through one dimension: financial measures. World-class organizations manage with a "balanced scorecard" of strategic and tactical measures in the areas of: Customer, Employee, Operational Effectiveness, Partners and Suppliers, and Financial.

Strategic measures are developed with the senior executive team in a five step process that involves creation and alignment of: vision, mission, values, strategic goals, strategic measures, and a deployment plan. A similar process is then repeated for the development of the tactical measures to align the divisional measures to the strategic measures of the organization.

Without the knowledge of what the targeted change encompasses, or how to approach it, a change team can swirl in lots of activity that does not ever reach the "desired goal"

All Stages & Steps of Healthy Workplace Implementation

Most organizations complete a Healthy Workplace assessment on a "euphoric high". They now know where they are and what their gaps are to becoming a World-class organization. They develop vital few plans to address the most pressing areas of deficiency. Why then do so many fail to move the ball and see tangible results?

In most cases, lack of meaningful change occurs because the desired state is not planned for or understood by the party(ies) that are responsible for the change occurring.

Strus & Associates has partnered with a Healthy Workplace specialist who can help your organization in any of the areas of Healthy Workplace. Whether your focus is on designing or making changes to the Drivers, Elements or Goals of your Healthy Workplace initiative, we will work with your internal consultants to provide the required level of custom support.

Let's take an example of an organization requiring the development of new approaches to conform to the "Physical Environment" requirements of the Healthy Workplace criteria.

Most organizations have some type of "safety procedures policy and process" in place. The fire warden positions are identified throughout the firm, the roles of what to do are documented, and undoubtedly there is a fire drill practice once a year. But is this all there is to conforming to the safety requirement of the criteria?

Firstly, we will help you define the attribute of safety for your firm. There is fire safety, external workplace safety, and internal workplace safety to name just a few. Which are yours? Have you developed the systems required to support all of your chosen aspects of safety? Have you trained everyone on them? Have you measured to see if the learning is understood? Do you have a process to routinely update manuals and training? Have you audited your systems effectiveness?

Without the knowledge of what the targeted change encompasses, or how to approach it, a change team can swirl in lots of activity that does not ever reach the "desired goal". Will work with your team to ensure you reach your "desired state".
