In 2002, the Region of Peel was presented with the NQI PEP Level 2 Award. According to John Perry, Senior Vice President, Programs, Senior Quality Advisor of NQI:

" This was not an easy award to get. It required an application that was professionally done. At the Region, it is obvious that there is a strong sense of pride, a strong strategic plan process and a strong focus on communications. Such recognition confirms the good work the Region is doing. Peel Region serves as a role model for public service and this is not only good for the Region, but it is good for our province and for Canada."

Strus & Associates Inc. is proud to be supporting Peel as they work through their plans to achieve Level 3. In recent months, we have assisted St. Luke’s Catholic School, AT&T, and the Town of Parry Sound get ready for PEP certification. Rob Mens, CAO of the Town of Parry Sound has this to say about the value of our intervention:

“ To ensure both Council and staff’s buy-in and understanding of the Town’s quality improvement initiative through the NQI, Marg was asked to come to Parry Sound to get us on the same page as we moved forward toward Level 2 certification of PEP. She quickly and accurately assessed her audience. From staff, there was a sense of relief as we realized we weren’t going to have to grind away in a lot of unnecessary paperwork. Council came out with a clearer understanding of the process and anticipated results and have given full support.

Parry Sound will be applying to the NQI for Level 2 certification this fall. Marg was able to take the Level 2 criteria, especially those related to process management, reinterpret it for staff so that they realized it would not be a daunting undertaking and convince us of the benefits. She knows the PEP program inside out, removes the peripheral information and left us with a clear plan of what needs to be done.”
