group in a three day session facilitated by a senior consultant.

Vital Few (Priority Improvement) Team Plans
A vital few team spends approximately 4
weeks developing the plan for improvement in the vital area
identified by the executive team.
Following a two day training session (see
Vital Few Training in the Education, Briefing & Training
section), in which the vital few team is given a planning
template and the skills for effective planning, the team meet
each week to develop the plan.
An experienced consultant meets with the
team to share successful approaches to the plan and to provide
a sounding board for testing assumptions about approaches,
activities, timeline and manpower.
The output is a 12-18 month, detailed implementation
plan that includes all required activities necessary to achieve
the desired state, as well as the projections of manpower,
financials (MIS, manpower and training), as well as the measures
of output success.
